The Pandemic

April 2020
many friends have been in contact with me to ask how is the village coping with the pandemic. The good news is that, as yet, nobody has caught the virus in the North of Karpathos. The villagers are ised to isolation and are coping rather well. If things get bad, they say, we can always got to Saria. There was one case in Pigadia and since then nobody goes to the South. The schools, cafes and bars are closed and the Church Services at Easter were conducted without congregation. The Greek government is talking of opening the country up some time in June, which will enable 3 months of the tourist season to run and provide employment and income. They provide a ghood information service.
